T shirt printing

Here we wish to share some of our thoughts about t-shirt printing, logo artwork and some other useful informations on the tee shirts business.

 

Where and how did it start ?

T-shirt appeared in the US earlly 19th century. In fact the T-shirt became the official underwear for the US Navy in 1899, then started to be worn in 1920 and became popular in Europe in 1943 with the US army. It was called the "T type shirt".

T-shirt is made of cotton or polyster. Cotton is coming in fact from the flower of the cotton plant - so is a naturally grew plantation, whereas polyester is synthetic. We think that cotton is far more conformtable and absorbs the perspiration quickly, giving it breathability. Less absorbent, the polyester doesn’t make you sweat, but it does keep sweat next to your body.For us the choice of the cotton for casual garments was obvious, even though for sport usage we might have think the opposite....

Energy wise, cotton requires more energy than polyester to produce. Cotton requires a lot of water to grew the plant flowers and most of cotton exported from the US is in fact manufactured in Asia before coming back again to the US ! So for the environement, polyster is better than cotton...
